Lab School

March 26, 2020

Dear Lab School Families,

I hope that you and your families are staying well and weathering the storm brought about by the COVID-19 situation. On March 24, UD President Assanis announced that faculty and staff of the University of Delaware would be working at home until May 15, 2020, or until the threat posed by COVID-19 has been eliminated. While the Lab School facility will remain closed until that time, our teaching staff will continue to provide our programming and social interactions online.

Teaching staff will continue to offer interactive Zoom meetings, which include read-alouds, activities, projects and special guests with the goal of providing as much as normalcy and routine as possible for the children. Teachers will begin to hold individual Zoom meetings to support each child’s needs and provide them with one-on-one time and attention. The robust communication between staff and families will continue to be strong and consistent. The Lab School will remain available for the families as needed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during what continues to be a time of uncertainty. We are in active conversations with University administration regarding questions and financial concerns.  We are aware and regret that these operational changes may prove challenging for many of you. We will continue to provide operational updates as they become available.

Please know that we are thinking of your child and family during this difficult time. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
